Teacher Planning Day Activity Ideas: Golf and Pottery Painting with Kids

0

Once the school year starts one of my first and foremost concerns is, “How many Teacher Planning Days are scheduled and when?”

This year on the Miami-Dade School Calendar there are 6 Teacher Planning Days! If you’re like me, you may be wondering what to do with your child? If you can take a few hours off to spend the day with your child, you should consider Topgolf or Pottery Painting at ArtsyHive!

Topgolf:

If you think you’re not into golf at all, you might just surprise yourself. Topgolf is a lot of fun for kids AND adults. They are completely prepared to give you and your child a great golfing experience. There are instructors for kids and adults and a lot of fun games to play. They even have a putting green for the littlest golfers and clubs for kids.

I was recently at the Miami Gardens location which is just a quick drive up I-95. My son and his friends had a wonderful time even though this was his first experience golfing. He is really looking forward to being there again.

Topgolf also has a full service bar and they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner! (Think chicken and waffles with mimomsas!) There is a great menu and you should consider it for your next Brunch. They also offer golfing Birthdays Parties, golf Camps and Clinics.

Pottery Painting at Artsy Hive:

Far from electronics and TV you and your kids can have the chance to become a little artsy.

Located in Miami Shores, The Artsy Hive, offers a great time painting pottery. No reservation is needed. Once you get to their beautiful venue you get to choose from a big selection of white pottery. They will give you a few instructions and then you let your inspiration take it from there.

You can take all the time and paint you need. Everything is covered in the cost of the piece you choose. When your masterpiece is finally complete, you leave it at Artsy Hive for a week to dry and be placed in the kiln to develop its colors. The pottery is then food safe and dishwasher safe!

Artsy Hive is a beautiful place where you can spend time with your kids on a free day. The experience is certainly different from what what we usually do, so I don’t doubt that you and your kids will have a blast.

Well, these ideas cover 2 of those 6 Teacher Planning Days on the calendar. I promise to bring you more fun things to do with your kids for those remaining Teacher Planning Days.
