Momlife is something that can consume you before you even realize it. Your life revolves around this tiny little human now. You lack sleep, you have to clean the house, make dinner, and the list can go on and on. This post is to give those mamas out there who have put themselves on the back burner a little motivation. It’s time to put yourself first!

Go on a Date

Go back to how it used to be. Before you had kids. Find a baby sitter, drop them off at grandma’s, ship them to tia’s house. Do whatever it takes to enjoy some adult alone time. This is number one on my list because keeping the spark going in your relationship is crucial. As difficult as it may seem, you and your spouse are the nuclei of your family and those cute kiddos wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for the love you have for each other. Going out on dates will reset that button and will keep a strong bond between both of you.

Work Out

Stop making excuses when it comes to this topic. We’ve all been there and done that! Stop listening to yourself and start talking to yourself. When you listen to that Negative Nancy voice inside your head, you’re prone to hear things like, “I can’t because little Jimmy is sleeping,” or “I feel bad dropping her off at childcare.” Instead, tell yourself, “I will get out of this house within 20 minutes and get my workout in. Little Jimmy will be fine.” Women underestimate how important this is. Exercising makes you feel so good once you’ve *successfully* completed your workout. Taking the first step out of the door is the hardest part of your workout. The rest just falls into place.

Put Lipstick On

That sassy girl still lives inside of you! Bring her out with a touch of color on those lips! It’s amazing how vibrant lipstick can make you look. Adding a little bit of lipstick and some mascara can go a long way. Don’t be lazy and throw some makeup on before leaving the house!

Go Out With Your Friends

I know you keep in touch with your friends, but honestly, when was the last time you actually went out on a lunch date with your friends… without kids? Enjoying some time out with your friends is great for the soul and can really liven your spirits. Call your friends, and make it happen. Don’t let it become another plan that never pulled through.

Dress Up

Show the world you put a little effort into your outfit. I know that yoga pants are so comfy, but if you aren’t on the way to the gym, they are just glorified pajamas. Throw some jeans on, a nice blouse, some accessories, and cute shoes. When you see yourself in the mirror, you will not only look great, you’ll feel a boost of confidence!
