Today, I’d like to share with you some of the natural remedies that I use, as well as some others that you should never travel without. Why? Because they work. And sister, when you are prepared, Murphy’s law doesn’t seem to work very well. +1 point for Mommy | 0 for Murphy.

Okay ya’ll, as most of us Mom’s know, there’s nothing worse than one of the kids being sick on vacation or during the holidays. Or US being sick. I personally have had to deal with it and as a result, NEVER travel without my arsenal of “bug weapons.”

Ginger
Ginger essential oil, candies or chews are excellent for combating nausea, motion sickness, and indigestion. Ginger is an anti-inflammatory, and has antibacterial and antifungal properties.

Probiotics
If you’ve been following me on social media for awhile, you know that I am always preaching about gut health. That is because the health of your gut plays a significant role in your immune system. You can keep that immune system running strong AND your digestive system operating at its best by feeding your gut with the good bacteria in probiotics. (If you need help choosing one, say something in the comments below and I will help you!)

Magnesium
Magnesium is a must-have for helping with sleep, bowel function, and relaxing the nervous system. You can apply it to your skin, drink it in water, or soak in a hot magnesium salt bath.

Ginseng
You can help your body to acclimate to different environments, climate changes, and altitudes with this stuff. It also helps with jet lag and stress.

Essential Oils
I swear by this stuff. So much so that I spent 6 months getting a certification in plant-based medicine instruction. After surviving a deadly C.Difficle infection, I can’t take antibiotics without major cause for concern of relapse. I now turn to plant-based medicine (aka: essential oils) to fight both bacterial and viral infections.

Oils like Frankincense, Melalucea, Oreganeo, and doTERRA’s OnGuard are always in my suitcase. I never leave home without them!

Diet
Nutrition is crucial in keeping your body healthy. Be sure to eat a balanced diet and drink plenty of water to continue supplying your body with all the nutrients needs to function optimally!

Sharing is caring: I’d love to hear what natural remedies you like to use with your family! If you’d like to learn more to learn more, just say so in the comments below so I can help you!

Carolina Marrelli
With 13+ years in music ministry and plans to go on tour, this Miami native’s life came to a screeching halt when, 4 days after bringing her newborn home, she was re-admitted to the hospital, sicker than she’d ever been. She was given a gift – it just came wrapped in really ugly wrapping paper. Surviving a health crisis that took 2 years to fully recover from is what led Carolina to become an Holistic Health Coach and Certified Plant-Based Medicine Instructor. She teaches women how to heal their bodies from the inside out so they feel better, look better and have the energy to do the things they love. Always up for adventure (and a good book), you can catch Carolina, her husband Carl and their two sons biking, playing on the beach, rocking out in the garage or relaxing by the Biltmore pool!
